Still curious? support@perillalabs.com

How long does the first index take?

Minutes for documents. Hours for a big photo library. After that, only changes.

What does it download?

Its search model, about 1 GB, once. After that, update checks and anonymous usage counts, which you can turn off.

Doesn’t Spotlight do this?

Spotlight needs the words. Instant needs the gist.

Why not ask an AI chatbot?

A chatbot wants your files first. Instant keeps them on your Mac.

Photos already searches my pictures.

Only in the Photos library. Instant searches every folder you pick.

Is it really free?

Yes. Companies pay us to build private search for them: Enterprise.
